Having worked on getting the permit for quite some time, mainly doing ‘desk work’ and not getting our hands-on experience with the farm, was worth it! This week it was time to plant our batch of Seaweed Seedlings. And boy, were we excited!

Our seedling input partner delivered the seedlings early November. The marker buoys were placed in the water only weeks before, so everything seems to come together this year. We are just in time to start planting, as the weather will be picking up when autumn progresses and winter sets in.

The weather during the week we had reserved for planting was quite good, however the wind and current conditions proved to be challenging. Putting out the lines with seedlings was not easy, but we finally got our HANDS-ON experience, and boy, was it hands on! Laurens literally pulled the farm together with sheer willpower and strength.
