Swedish Seaweed was founded by four founders, Inge, Laurens, Emiel and Marcel. You can find more information about them below.
Inge van der Knaap
Inge holds a PhD in Marine Biology and is responsible for the scientific and research activities on the farm, while also driving the boat and designing the layout of the farm. In everyday life she works at the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.
Laurens Hoffer
Laurens holds a bachelor degree in Sports &Health, has a decade of experience of leading teams and guiding them to achieving healthy results. He is responsible for the local network, management and operations of the Seaweed Farm. In everyday life he works as leader in a health-advisory firm in Sweden.
Emiel Hoffer
Emiel holds a Master degree in International Business and has over a decade experience in the Food, Energy & Agriculture transitions through Impact Investing and Innovative Geospatial Technology. He is responsible for connecting the farm to value chain and driving the business forward. In everyday life he works as an Independent Advisor to accelerate the major transitions.
